D03 Engine running irregularly (sawing)

The engine is running irregularly under all conditions of use (load, speed, etc.). In particular, "sawing" is noted, i.e. brief but heavy "gaps in acceleration".

Preliminarily check:
- air cleaner condition
- correct air cleaner assembly

OK Problems found Intervention
1 CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC TOOL Connect the diagnostic tool (Examiner or other tool) to the diagnostic socket. Check for:
– absence of faults in the engine ECU
– plausibility of all parameters		 All OK
Go to Step 2		 Problems found Intervention
Failed conversation with the ECU Restore connection between the engine ECU and the diagnostic socket
(Wiring diagram: E5030 "PETROL ENGINE ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT")
Error detected in the ECU Continue as shown by the diagnostic tool
2 CHECK ACCELERATOR Check the accelerator wire. In particular check for:
– intactness of wire
– correct sliding of wire in sheath
– correct fastening of sheath		 All OK
Go to Step 3		 Accelerator wire fault Restore accelerator wire PROCEDURE OP. 1068A30
3 CHECK INJECTOR With the diagnostic tool (Examiner or other tool) carry out active tests of the injector All OK
Go to Step 4		 Injector fault Restore connection between injector and ECU, (Wiring diagram: E5030 "PETROL ENGINE ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT")
or replace the injector PROCEDURE OP. 1056A70
