1.2 16v

Removing

Place the car on a lift.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R..

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

1. Disconnect the electrical connections (1a) and (1b) for the Lambda sensors.

2. Undo the nuts fixing the manifold/catalytic converter to the cylinder head.

3. Undo the nuts fixing the manifold/converter to the exhaust pipe.

4. Undo the bolt fixing the manifold/catalytic converter mounting bracket to the gearbox.

5. Remove the manifold/catalytic converter.

Removing

Place the car on a lift.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R..

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

1. Disconnect electrical connections (1a) and (1b) for the Lambda sensors.

2. Undo the nuts fixing the manifold/catalytic converter to the cylinder head.

3. Undo the nuts fixing the manifold/converter to the exhaust pipe.

4. Undo the bolt fixing the manifold/catalytic converter mounting bracket to the gearbox.

5. Remove the manifold/catalytic converter.

Removing

Place the vehicle on a ramp.

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 1080B98 LAMBDA SENSORS (all) - R.R.

- 1076A74 heat shield for exhaust pipe attachment to manifold - r r

1. Undo the fixing nuts (1a) and disconnect the exhaust pipe (1b) from the exhaust manifold (1c).

1.2 16v

Refitting

Fit the manifold/converter.

Tighten the bolt fixing the manifold/converter mounting bracket to the gearbox to torque.

Tighten the nuts fixing the manifold/converter to the exhaust pipe.

Tighten the nuts fixing the manifold/converter to the cylinder head.

Connect the electrical connections for the two Lambda sensors.

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

Connect the battery negative terminal.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R..

Remove the vehicle from the lift.

1.4 16v

Refitting

Fit the manifold/converter.

Tighten the bolt fixing the manifold/converter mounting bracket to the gearbox to torque.

Tighten the nuts fixing the manifold/converter to the exhaust pipe.

Tighten the nuts fixing the manifold/converter to the cylinder head.

Connect the electrical connections for the two Lambda sensors.

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

Connect the battery negative terminal.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R..

Remove the vehicle from the lift.

1.6 16v

1. Undo the bracket retaining bolts on the engine block.

2. Undo the nuts (2a) and remove the exhaust manifold (2b), complete with gasket.

Refitting

Place the exhaust manifold, complete with a new gasket, back in its housing and fix it to the cylinder head tightening the nuts to the recommended torque.

Tighten the bolts securing the bracket to the crankcase to the specified torque.

Tighten the nuts securing the exhaust pipe to the specified torque.

- 1076A74 heat shield for exhaust pipe attachment to manifold - r r

- 1080B98 LAMBDA SENSORS (all) - R.R.

Connect the battery's negative terminal.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

Remove the car from the ramp.
