Operation 1080B98 · Exhaust emission control system

Removing

- 1080B94 front lambda probe with catalitic converter r r

- 1080B95 rear lambda probe with catalitic converter r r

1.8 16v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

- 1080B60 LAMBDA SENSOR - R.R.

- 1080B92 left upper lambda sensor r r

- 1080B93 right upper lambda sensor r r

2.4 20v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R..

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

1. Unscrew the retaining nuts.

2. Remove the heat shield for the catalytic preconverter.

Refitting

- 1080B95 rear lambda probe with catalitic converter r r

- 1080B94 front lambda probe with catalitic converter r r

1.8 16v

Refitting

- 1080B93 right upper lambda sensor r r

- 1080B92 left upper lambda sensor r r

- 1080B60 LAMBDA SENSOR - R.R.

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Connect the battery negative terminal.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

2.4 20v

1. Disconnect the electrical connection (1a), then undo and remove the right Lambda sensor (1b).

1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the left Lambda sensor.

2. Undo and remove the left Lambda sensor.

Refitting

Fit the left Lambda sensor in its seating and tighten it to the specified torque.

Connect the electrical connection for the left Lambda sensor.

Fit the right lambda sensor and tighten to the preconverter.

Connect the electrical connection for the Lambda sensor.

Fit the lower heat shield for the catalytic preconverter and tighten the retaining nuts.
