1.2 16v, 1.4 16v, 1.6 16v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

1. Remove the clips securing the cables to the bracket.

2. Prise out both heads (2a) and withdraw gear selection and engagement cables (2b) from the bracket.

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

1. Remove the clips securing the cables to the bracket.

2. Prise out both heads (2a) and withdraw gear selection and engagement cables (2b) from the bracket.

Removing

1. Remove the clips securing the cables to the bracket.

2. Prise out both heads (2a) and withdraw gear selection and engagement cables (2b) from the bracket.

- 1076B26 intermediate exhaust silencer - r+r emission control versions

- 1080B62 catalytic converter - r + r

- 1076A48 catalytic converter heat shield - r r

To facilitate cable removal from the mount, it is advisable to tighten both bolts securing the mount to the body.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the protective cover (1b).

2. Remove the selection and engagement flexible transmission cable heads (2a) from the lever and relay (2b).

3. Remove the anchoring clips and withdraw the two flexible transmission cables from the mounting.

4. Open the retaining band (4a) and remove both hoses (4b) from the car.

Refitting

Fit the gear selection and engagement flexible transmission cable ends to the lever and relay.

Fit the clips anchoring the two flexible transmission cables to the mounting.

Fit the protective cover in the mount seat and tighten the fixing bolts.

Fit the gear selection and engagement flexible transmission cables and press fit the heads to the pivot pins.

Fit the retaining clips to the bracket.

Fit the gear selection and engagement flexible transmission cables and press fit the heads to the pivot pins.

Fit the retaining clips to the bracket.

2.4 20v

Position the gear lever in contact with the reverse inhibition wall.

1. Position the spacer tool and a 1.5 mm high washer in order to reach an overall height (spacer+washer) of 19 mm under the gear engagement lever.

Connect the gear selection self-adjusting flexible cable end.

Secure the flexible cable to the mounting bracket, engaging the retaining clip in the housing.

Connect the gear engagement flexible cable end.

Secure the flexible cable to the mounting bracket engaging the retaining clip in the housing.

Place the gear lever in Reverse and remove the tool and washer positioned under the gear engagement lever.

Move the gear lever to neutral position.

Connect the gear selection self-adjusting flexible cable end.

Secure the flexible cable to the mounting bracket, engaging the retaining clip in the housing.

Connect the gear engagement flexible cable end.

Secure the flexible cable to the mounting bracket engaging the retaining clip in the housing.

Place the gear lever in Reverse and remove the tool and washer positioned under the gear engagement lever.

Place the gear lever in Reverse and remove the tool and washer positioned under the gear engagement lever.
