Description and operationFront Wipers and Washers Operation

The rear windscreen washer is operated from a non latching push switch located on the facia on the right of the instrument pack. The washer is connected to an electric pump which is attached to the windscreen washer reservoir located in the front wheel arch. The pump is attached to a washer jet which is fitted to the rear wiper arm. When the washer switch is pushed, the rear washer and the wiper operates for as long as the button is held. When the switch is released, the washer pump stops and the wiper continues for five further cycles. The switch is illuminated when the side lights are turned on. The rear windscreen wiper is operated from a switch located on the facia on the right of the instrument pack. When the switch is pushed, the rear wiper completes three cycles. Thereafter, the wiper will perform one cycle every five seconds until the rear wiper switch is selected off. The switch is illuminated when the side lights are turned on.

A reverse gear wipe facility also operates the rear wiper. When reverse gear is selected, with the front wipers on, a signal from the reverse gear switch initiates the rear wiper to wipe continuously while reverse gear is engaged. When reverse gear is disengaged or the front wipers are switched off, the wiper will complete its final cycle and stop.
