When the windscreen wash/wipe switch is moved to position ’O’, the feed to the CCU is removed. The CCU removes the earth path for the front wiper relay coil and the relay contacts open. The wipers use the park function switch to return to their park position.
Slow and Fast Speed Function
A feed from the passenger compartment fusebox (C580-5) is connected by a light green wire to the windscreen wash/wipe switch (C035-5).
When the switch is moved to the slow position ’-’, the feed passes through the switch contacts (C035-4) and is connected to the windscreen wiper motor (C030-5) by a blue and light green wire. This wire connects to the slow speed motor brushes. The motor is earthed by a black wire from the motor (C030-2) to an earth header joint (C018-2).
When the switch is moved to the fast position ’=’, the feed passes through the switch contacts (C035-3) and is connected to the windscreen wiper motor (C030-3) by a red and green wire. This wire connects to the fast speed motor brushes. The motor is earthed on a black wire from the motor (C030-2) to an earth header joint (C018-2). When the windscreen wash/wipe switch is moved to the off position ’O’, the feed to the windscreen wiper motor is removed.
