Reverse Gear Wiper Function

When the rear washer switch is released, the feed to the rear screen washer pump is also removed and the pump stops. The signal feed from the rear washer switch to the CCU is also removed.

Reverse Gear Wiper Function

With the ignition switch in position II, a feed from fuse 2 of the passenger compartment fusebox (C581-4) is connected by a green wire to the reverse lamp switch (C163-1). When reverse gear is selected, the switch is operated and the feed passes from the switch (C166-1), via a header joint, to the CCU (C428-4) on a green and brown wire.

With the front windscreen wipers selected on, a feed from fuse 3 of the passenger compartment fusebox (C582-10) is connected to the front windscreen wiper motor park switch (C030-1) by a light green wire. When the front wipers are operating, the feed passes through the park switch (C030-4) and is connected by a brown and light green wire to the CCU (C430-1).

The combined feeds from the reverse lamp switch and front windscreen wiper motor park switch are used as a signal to provide an earth path within the CCU. The earth path allows a feed from fuse 8 of the passenger compartment fusebox, to pass through the CCU (C429-5) to the rear wiper relay (C124-7) on a yellow and black wire. This energizes the coil of the forward relay which provides an earth from the rear screen wiper motor (C388-1) on a green and red wire to the rear wiper relay (C124-9). The earth path is completed from the relay (C124-4) to earth header joint (C551-1) by a black wire.

A feed is supplied from fuse 30 of the passenger compartment fusebox (C583-4) to the rear wiper relay (C124-2) on a purple and red wire. The feed passes through the contacts of the reverse relay and is connected from the rear wiper relay (C124-6) to the rear screen wiper motor (C388-2) by a green wire. This operates the rear screen wiper motor in the forward direction.
