Blower motor runs, but one or more speeds are inoperative.

Turn the ignition switch ON, and the heater fan switch OFF.

1. Does the blower motor run?

   • YES To page 4
   • NO

2. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

3. Disconnect the 5P connector from the blower resistor.

4. Measure the resistance between the No. 3 and No. 5 terminals, of the blower resistor.

5. Is there approx. 2.31 Ohms?

   • YES Replace the blower resistor.
   • NO

6. Reconnect the 5P connector to the blower resistor.

7. Remove the heater control panel.

8. Disconnect the 8P connector from the heater fan switch.

9. At the 8P connector of the heater fan switch, earth each of the wire individually in the following order.

   • * BLU wire
   • * BLU/WHT wire
   • * BLU/YEL wire
   • * BLU/BLK wire
   • * BLU/RED wire

10. Does the blower motor run at progressively higher speeds?

    • YES Replace the heater fan switch.
    • NO

11. Repair open or cause of excessive resistance in the appropriate wire(s) between the heater fan switch and the blower resistor.
