Operation 1008A42 · Power unit fastenings

1.6 TS

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with the removal - 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the removal - 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R. (Left side).

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the power unit gearbox side rigid support to the flexible mounting.

2. Undo the bolts (2a) and (2b) and remov the power unit gearbox side rigid support (2c).

Refitting

1. Refit the gearbox side power unit rigid support (1a) in its seating and secure to the gearbox by tightening screws (1b) and bolts (1c) to the specified torque.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the gearbox side rigid power unit support to the flexbile block to the specified torque.

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with the refitting - 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the refitting - 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (Left side).

Remove the car from the ramp.

2.0 TS

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with the removal - 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the removal - 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the power unit gearbox side rigid support to the flexible mounting.

2. Undo the bolts (2a) and (2b) and remov the power unit gearbox side rigid support (2c).

Refitting

1. Refit the gearbox side power unit rigid support (1a) in its seating and secure to the gearbox by tightening screws (1b) and bolts (1c) to the specified torque.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the gearbox side rigid power unit support to the flexbile block to the specified torque.

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with the refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Proceed with the refitting - 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the refitting - 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (Left side).

Remove the car from the ramp.

3.2 V6

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the nut (1a) and disconnect the earth lead (1b) from the gearbox side rigid power unit support.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the power unit gearbox side rigid support to the flexible mounting.

3. Undo the bolts (3a) and remove the power unit gearbox side rigid engine mount (3b).

One of the above mentioned bolts also secures the power unit mounting bracket.

Refitting

1. Refit the gearbox side power unit rigid support (1a) in its seating and tighten the bolts (1b) to the specified torque.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the gearbox side rigid power unit support to the flexbile block to the specified torque.

3. Connect the earth lead (3a) to the gearbox side rigid power unit support and tighten the nut (3b).

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.9 JTD 8V

Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Lower the lift.

1. Position a hydraulic jack for supporting the engine under the oil sump to work in safety.

2. Undo the bolts (2a) fixing the rigid support to the gearbox (2b), then remove it.

Refitting

Fit the rigid engine support in the special housing and tighten the bolts fixing it to the gearbox and the flexible mounting to torque.

Remove the hydraulic safety device positioned under the oil sump.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.

1.9 JTD 16V

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Proceed with removal - 1048B14 air delivery pipe between turbo charger and heat exchanger - replace.

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the nut (1a) and disconnect the earth lead (1b) from the gearbox side rigid power unit support.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the power unit gearbox side rigid support to the flexible mounting.

3. Undo the bolts (3a) and remove the power unit gearbox side rigid engine mount (3b).

Refitting

1. Refit the gearbox side power unit rigid support (1a) in its seating and tighten the bolts (1b) to the specified torque.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the gearbox side rigid power unit support to the flexbile block to the specified torque.

3. Connect the earth lead (3a) to the gearbox side rigid power unit support and tighten the nut (3b).

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with refitting - 1048B14 air delivery pipe between turbo charger and heat exchanger - replace.

Proceed with refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Remove the car from the ramps.
