Operation 1008A44 · Power unit fastenings

1.6 TS · 103 CV

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

1. Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

2. Undo the nut fixing the reinforcement rod to the engine block.

3. Undo the bolt fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the cylinder block/crankcase.

4. Undo the bolt (4a) and the nut (4b) fixing the rigid rear support for the power unit to the gearbox.

5. Loosen the bolt fixing the reinforcement rod to the power unit rigid rear support.

6. Undo the bolt (6a) and remove the power unit rigid rear support (6b) complete with reaction rod (6c).

Refitting

1. Place the power unit rigid rear suport (1a), complete with reinforcement rod (1b) back in its housing and secure it by tightening the bolt (1c) to the flexible mounting to the recommended torque.

2. Tighten the bolt (2a) and the nut (2b) fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the gearbox to the recommended torque.

3. Tighten the bolt fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the cylinder block/crankcase to the recommended torque.

4. Tighten the bolt (4a) and the nut (4b) fixing the reinforcement rod to the engine block to the recommended torque.

5. Remove the hydraulic jack positioned under the gearbox.

Remove the car from the ramp.

1.6 TS · 120 CV

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Ensure that the ignition key is in the OFF postition, then disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Proceed with the removal - 1080B40 catalytic pre-converter - r r.

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the bolt (1a) and nut (1b) and remove the reinforcement link (1c).

2. Undo the bolt (2a) and the nut (2b) fixing the rigid rear support for the power unit to the gearbox.

3. Undo the bolt fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the cylinder block/crankcase.

4. Undo the bolt (4a) and remove the rigid rear support for the power unit (4b).

Refitting

1. Place the power unit rigid rear support (1a) back in its housing and secure it to the flexible mounting by tightening the bolt (1b) to the recommended torque.

2. Tighten the bolt fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the cylinder block/crankcase to the recommended torque.

3. Tighten the bolt (3a) and the nut (3b) fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the gearbox to the recommended torque.

4. Place the reinforcement rod (4a) back in its housing and secure it tightening the bolt (4b) and the nut (4c) to the recommended torque.

Remove the hydraulic jack positioned under the gearbox.

Proceed with the refitting - 1080B40 catalytic pre-converter - r r.

Connect the battery terminal (-).

Remove the car from the ramp.

2.0 TS

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Ensure that the ignition key is in the OFF postition, then disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Proceed with the removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Proceed with the removal - 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r.

Proceed with the removal - 1080B40 catalytic pre-converter - r r.

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the bolt (1a) and nut (1b) and remove the reinforcement link (1c).

2. Undo the bolt (2a) and the nut (2b) fixing the rigid rear support for the power unit to the gearbox.

3. Undo the bolt fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the cylinder block/crankcase.

4. Undo the bolt (4a) and remove the rigid rear support for the power unit (4b).

Refitting

1. Place the power unit rigid rear support (1a) back in its housing and secure it to the flexible mounting by tightening the bolt (1b) to the recommended torque.

2. Tighten the bolt fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the cylinder block/crankcase to the recommended torque.

3. Tighten the bolt (3a) and the nut (3b) fixing the power unit rigid rear support to the gearbox to the recommended torque.

4. Place the reinforcement rod (4a) back in its housing and secure it tightening the bolt (4b) and the nut (4c) to the recommended torque.

Remove the hydraulic jack positioned under the gearbox.

Proceed with the refitting - 1080B40 catalytic pre-converter - r r.

Proceed with the refitting - 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r.

Proceed with the refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Connect the battery terminal (-).

Remove the car from the ramp.

3.2 V6

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Proceed with removal - 1076B82 left exhasust pipe between catalytic preconverter and converter r r.

1. Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the rear power unit rigid support to the flexible mounting.

3. Undo the bolts (3a) and remove the rear support for the power unit (3b).

Refitting

1. Refit the gearbox side power unit rear rigid support (1a) in its seating and tighten the bolts (1b) to the specified torque.

2. Tighten the bolt securing the rigid rear power unit support to the flexible mounting to the recommended torque.

3. Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with refitting - 1076B82 left exhasust pipe between catalytic preconverter and converter r r.

Proceed with refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.9 JTD 8V

Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Position a hydraulic lift under the oil sump.

1. Undo the fixing nut (1a) and bolt (1b) and remove the rigid power unit rear reinforcement (1c).

1. Undo the nut fixing the rigid rear support to the mounting.

2. Undo the fixing bolts (2a) and remove the power unit rear support (2b).

Refitting

Fit the power unit rear support.

Tighten the bolts fixing the support to the differential to torque.

Tighten the bolts fixing the engine support to the flexible mounting to torque.

Fit the rigid support reinforcement and secure it to the mounting and the cylinder block/crankcase.

Tighten the nut and the bolt fixing the reinforcement.

Remove the hydraulic lift positioned under the oil sump.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.

1.9 JTD 16V

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

1. Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

2. Undo the nut fixing the rear power unit rigid support to the flexible mounting.

3. Undo the bolts (3a) and remove the rear support for the power unit (3b).

Refitting

1. Refit the gearbox side power unit rear rigid support (1a) in its seating and tighten the bolts (1b) to the specified torque.

2. Tighten the nut securing the rear power unit rigid support to the flexible mounting to the recommended torque.

3. Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Remove the car from the ramps.
