Gearbox side mount flexible block - replace

1.6 TS

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with the removal - 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the removal - 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R. (Left side).

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the power unit gearbox side rigid support to the flexible mounting.

Lower the hydraulic jack as necessary.

2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the gearbox side support flexible mounting (2b).

Refitting

1. Place the gearbox side support flexible mounting (1a) back in its housing and secure it by tightening the bolts (1b) to the recommended torque.

Using the hydraulic jack, place the gearbox side rigid support in contact with the flexible mounting.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the gearbox side rigid power unit support to the flexbile block to the specified torque.

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with the refitting - 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the refitting - 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (Left side).

Remove the car from the ramp.

2.0 TS

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with the removal - 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the removal - 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the power unit gearbox side rigid support to the flexible mounting.

Lower the hydraulic jack as necessary.

2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the gearbox side support flexible mounting (2b).

Refitting

1. Place the flexible mounting for the gearbox side support (1a) back in its housing and secure it by tightening the bolts (1b) to the recommended torque.

Using the hydraulic jack, place the gearbox side rigid support in contact with the flexible mounting.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the gearbox side rigid power unit support to the flexbile block to the specified torque.

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with the refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Proceed with the refitting - 7055B64 Engine compartment DUST shield in front wheel arch (one), left or right - R.R. (Left side).

Proceed with the refitting - 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (Left side).

Remove the car from the ramp.

3.2 V6

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

1. Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the power unit gearbox side rigid support to the flexible mounting.

Lower the hydraulic jack as necessary.

3. Undo the bolts (3a) and remove the gearbox side support flexible mounting (3b).

Refitting

1. Place the flexible mounting for the gearbox side support (1a) back in its housing and secure it by tightening the bolts (1b) to the recommended torque.

Using the hydraulic jack, place the gearbox side rigid power unit support in contact with the flexible mounting.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the gearbox side rigid power unit support to the flexbile block to the specified torque.

3. Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.9 JTD 8V

Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 1008A42 gear box left rigid mount - r r

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the flexible mounting for the gearbox side support (1b).

Refitting

Place the gearbox side support flexible mounting back in its housing and secure it tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

- 1008A42 gear box left rigid mount - r r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Remove the car from the ramp.

1.9 JTD 16V

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Proceed with removal - 1048B14 air delivery pipe between turbo charger and heat exchanger - replace.

Position a hydraulic jack under the gearbox.

1. Undo the nut (1a) and disconnect the earth lead (1b) from the gearbox side rigid power unit support.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the power unit gearbox side rigid support to the flexible mounting.

3. Undo the bolts (3a) and remove the power unit gearbox side rigid engine mount (3b).

4. Undo the bolts (4a) and remove the gearbox side support flexible mounting (4b).

Refitting

1. Place the flexible mounting for the gearbox side support (1a) back in its housing and secure it by tightening the bolts (1b) to the recommended torque.

2. Refit the gearbox side power unit rigid support (2a) in its seating and tighten the bolts (2b) to the specified torque.

3. Undo the bolt fixing the gearbox side rigid power unit support to the flexbile block to the specified torque.

4. Connect the earth lead (4a) to the gearbox side rigid power unit support and tighten the nut (4b).

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the gearbox.

Proceed with refitting - 1048B14 air delivery pipe between turbo charger and heat exchanger - replace.

Proceed with refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Remove the car from the ramps.
