IGNITION SWITCH EFFICIENCY CHECK

Check 5520AA

	CHECK TO BE PERFORMED	RESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1	Inser the key in the ignition and turn to STOP Check that the key is released mechanically in the ignition. Check that the steering is released.	Restore B-Can continuity See E1050 CAN CONNECTION LINES
2	Connect the diagnostic tester to the TEG Reader node. Insert the key in the ignition and check that the system recognises the key by turning ON (transponder reading stage). The test can be considered over	Replace the key and store it in the Teg Reader node. See descriptions 5580E ANTI-THEFT DEVICE Move on to Step 3
3	Connect the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode with the positive terminal to Pin 3 and the negative earthed to Pin 4 of the ignition device See H003 IGNITION DEVICE The direct voltage reading should be 12 Volt.	Restore the power supply See E5010 STARTING AND RECHARING
4	Fit the key in the ignition. Connect the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode with the positive terminal connected to device Pin 12 and the negative earthed. The direct battery voltage reading should be less than 10.6 Volts. See H003 IGNITION DEVICE	Replace the ignition lock Op. 5520A10 IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - R+R
5	With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to device Pin 6 and the negative to earth See H003 IGNITION DEVICE Turn the key ON and check for a voltage of 12 Volts.	Replace the ignition lock Op. 5520A10 IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - R+R
6	With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to device Pin 5 and the negative to earth See H003 IGNITION DEVICE Press the clutch pedal. Turn the key ON and check for a voltage of 12 Volts.	Replace the ignition lock Op. 5520A10 IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - R+R
7	With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to device Pin 11 and the negative to earth See H003 IGNITION DEVICE Press the clutch pedal. Turn the key ON and check for a voltage of 12 Volts.	Replace the ignition lock Op. 5520A10 IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - R+R

CHECK TO BE PERFORMED

RESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK

Inser the key in the ignition and turn to STOP

Check that the key is released mechanically in the ignition.

Check that the steering is released.

Restore B-Can continuity

Connect the diagnostic tester to the TEG Reader node.

Insert the key in the ignition and check that the system recognises the key by turning ON (transponder reading stage).

The test can be considered over

Replace the key and store it in the Teg Reader node.

Move on to Step 3

Connect the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode with the positive terminal to Pin 3 and the negative earthed to Pin 4 of the ignition device

See H003 IGNITION DEVICE

The direct voltage reading should be 12 Volt.

Restore the power supply

Fit the key in the ignition.

Connect the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode with the positive terminal connected to device Pin 12 and the negative earthed. The direct battery voltage reading should be less than 10.6 Volts.

Replace the ignition lock

Op. 5520A10 IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - R+R

With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to device Pin 6 and the negative to earth

See H003 IGNITION DEVICE

Turn the key ON and check for a voltage of 12 Volts.

Replace the ignition lock

Op. 5520A10 IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - R+R

With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to device Pin 5 and the negative to earth

Press the clutch pedal.

Turn the key ON and check for a voltage of 12 Volts.
