ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The Panda 1108 8v is equipped with a 4 cylinder in line, 8 valve, 1108 cc, single overhead camshaft engine with a MARELLI IAW 59F integrated electronic injection/ignition system.
The system adopted differs considerably from the previous one because the fuel injection is the phased, multiple intermittent type and is compatible with EEC Stage 3 EOBD regulations.
The main modifications to the system can be summarized as follows:
- specific engine management control unit with double connector;
- specific injection/ignition wiring with standardized diagnostic connector;
- intake manifold for multipoint system;
- multipoint type fuel supply system;
- engine timing sensor;
- twin Lambda sensors, upstream and downstream of the catalytic converter;
- catalytic converter integrated in the exhaust manifold and fitted with a special heat shield;
- fuel vapour recirculation system components suitable for meeting EEC stage 3 EOBD regulations;
- unlosable fuel tank cap;
- instrumentation with EOBD warning light.
