All unexploded material MUST NOT BE ACTIVATED, but must be sent to a specialised centre (in ITALY to GECMA in Chivasso), stating on the goods accompanying note: "AIR BAG DEVICE CONTAINING PYROTECHNIC CHARGE TO BE DEACTIVATED".
For OVERSEAS MARKETS, local legislation must be observed.
The devices must be dispatched strictly in the same packaging/containers in which the spare parts were received and, if these are not available, it is possible to request only the packaging from SPARE PARTS.
Obviously, when replacing the Air Bag devices, the original packaging must be kept intact for forwarding the device itself without activation.
Failure to comply with the procedures listed here may cause inadvertent activation of the Air Bag units and personal injury. Inactive Air Bag units MUST NOT be disposed of through the usual waste disposal methods. Inactive Air Bag units contain substances hazardous to health and which may cause personal injury if the sealed container containing them is damaged during disposal. Disposal of Air Bag units not in accordance with this procedure may violate current legislation on the matter.
ORDERING PROCEDURES
If necessary, the devices must be requested individually from the Spare Parts After-Sales Department - Volvera exclusively using the front-line procedure, as the Network must not keep stock of such special items. In any case, an internal dispatch register must be maintained for their relative handling, recording the identification numbers of the modules and the vehicle's details (chassis number, registration date, model etc.).
