Safety measures

Work on the components of the Air-bag system must be carried out by appropriately trained personnel, strictly observing the following safety measures. During disconnection or replacement operations, polyethylene gloves and protective goggles must be used. Do not use open flames near the Air-bag device and its related system components. The metallic components of a recently deployed Air-bag are very hot; avoid touching these components for at least 30 minutes from the moment the Air-bag was activated. Damaged or defective individual components must not be repaired or tampered with in any way, but must be replaced entirely. For further clarification on safety regulations, see page 7 onwards.

Operation sequence

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery terminals and wait 10 minutes, then disconnect the connectors (yellow and orange) located near the heater;
  2. unscrew the fixing screws of the passenger-side Air-bag device, guiding the cable as it exits its housing;

Air-bag modules, if not activated after disconnection, must be immediately stored in a specifically marked and lockable cabinet.
