USE OF THE “DIAGNOSIS” SECTION

To facilitate fault-finding, the Service Manual contains this section called “DIAGNOSIS”.

In this section the diagnosis procedures are based on the symptoms and not on the cause components. For example look for the symptom “Gearbox noise” and not the component “Noisy gearbox”. This way the structure does not follow the usual subdivision into Assemblies, Asemblies, etc. but presents a list of possible symptoms.

The symptoms are subdivided into large “families”, which correspond to the parts of the car, just as they are perceived by the driver (e.g. engine, gearbox, steering, lights) and not to the functional/constructive groups (e.g. injection, suspension, electric system).
