B20 The engine starts and stops immediately

The engine start regularly, or with difficulty, and immediately and suddenly stops.

Preliminarily check:
– conditions of the spark plugs and respective wires
– air intake circuit intactness
– if the catalytic converter is clogged up

1 CHECKING WITH DIAGNOSTIC TOOL
Connect the diagnostic tool (Examiner or other tool) to the diagnostic socket. Check the following:
– no errors in the engine ECU
– all parameters are plausible		 All OK
Go to Step 2		 Problems found
No dialogue with the ECU		 Intervention
Restore connection between engine ECU and diagnostic socket
(Wiring diagram: E5030 "PETROL ENGINE ELECTRONIC CONTROL")
Problems found
Error detected in the ECU		 Intervention
Continue as shown by the diagnostic tool
2 CHECK FUEL PRESSURE
Check fuel supply pressure OP. PROCEDURE 0510C10		 All OK
Go to Step 3		 Problems found
Incorrect pressure		 Intervention
Check the following circuit components in sequence:
– fuel filter OP. PROCEDURE 1044B10
– pressure regulator
– fuel pipes
PROCEDURE 1040 B
3 PROBLEMS FOUND
Perform the coil active test with the diagnostic tool (Examiner or other tool).		 All OK
Go to Step 4		 Problems found
Faulty ignition coil		 Intervention
Restore connection between coils and ECU, (Wiring diagram: E5030 "PETROL ENGINE ELECTRONIC CONTROL") or replace ignition coils OP. PROCEDURE 5510C10
