IMPORTANT NOTE When replacing a fuse, look also for the cause that may have provoked it to trigger. If the fuse supplies more than one circuit, its breakage may have been caused by a failure on a circuit other than that where it is presumed.
FUSE COLOURS
All the fuses are identified according to a colour correlated to the amperage The smallest "standard" type fuses (such as those in the fuse carrier box) have these colours:
| AMP | COLOUR |
|---|---|
| 7.5A | Brown |
| 10 A | Red |
| 15 A | Light blue |
| 20 A | Yellow |
| 25 A | White |
| 30 A | Green |
Also the "maxifuses" (Such as those located in the two "maxifuse"boxes), are identified by the colour:
| AMP | COLOUR |
|---|---|
| 30 A | Green |
| 40 A | Orange |
| 50 A | Red |
| 60 A | Light blue |
| 70 A | Brown |
| 80 A | Yellow |
| 100 A | Purple |
IMPORTANT NOTE: always use fuses with an amperage equal to that of the fuse that has been replaced: a higher amperage is hazardous for the integrity of the components protected by that fuse; a lower amperage could cause faults and failures, triggering when this is not necessary.
