SAFETY STANDARDS

Before starting any kind of work on electrical components, read and scrupulously follow these precautions:

• Remove rings, wristwatches or other metal objects.
• Disconnect one of the battery terminals whenever an electrical component is to be removed.
• Do not submit the battery to fast charging, unless the earth cable has been disconnected, to avoid damaging the alternator diodes.
• Never try to run the engine with the battery earth cable slack, to avoid serious damage to the wiring.
• When working on the car electrical system, never pull with force on cables or wiring, since this could accidentally disconnect cables from the connectors or terminals.
• Disconnect all the control units and electronic devices when arc welding on the car body.
• When replacing fuses, make sure that the new fuse has the correct amperage. Do not use fuses with a higher or lower amperage.

ELECTRIC ARC HAZARDS : although the electric system voltage is only 12V, the power of the battery can cause high currents in short circuits, causing arcs or sparks that could be hazardous for the operator or could start a fire.

HIGH VOLTAGE HAZARDS: the electronic ignition system genrates voltages of 20,000 V and over,that could be extremely hazardous for persons, especially if they suffer from heart disturbances.
Therefore operate very cautiously when working on these components or near to them.

FIRE HAZARDS: never smoke when working near the battery or components containing items that heat up when in use (such as halogen lamps), or inside the engine compartment with the propulsor still hot, take utmost care to avoid burns or damage to tools or components.
