Operation 1820B30 · HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SYSTEM

1.2 16v, 1.6 16v

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Lift the clip (1a) and disconnect the pipe (1b) from the clutch release cylinder.

Release the pipe from the retaining band.

2. Undo the retaining bolts.

3. Remove the operating cylinder from the engine compartment.

1.4 16v

Removing

Place the car on the ramp.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

Using syringe, drain the brake/clutch fluid from the reservoir.

1. Raise the clip (1a) and disconnect the flexible pipe (1b) from the slave/actuator cylinder.

2. Undo the retaining bolts.

3. Remove the operating cylinder from the engine compartment.

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Undo the retaining bolts.

2. Remove the clutch release cylinder shield.

1.2 16v, 1.6 16v

Refitting

Fit the clutch release cylinder to the gearbox and tighten the retaining bolts to torque.

Connect the oil pipe for the hydraulic clutch release cylinder.

Fit the clutch release cylinder guard and tighten the retaining bolts.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.4 16v

Refitting

Fit the operating cylinder and secure it with its bolts.

Connect the pipe to the operating cylinder/actuator and secuire it with its clamp.

Top up the fluid level in the reservoir.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.9 JTD 8v · 80 CV

1. Lift the clip (1a) and disconnect the pipe (1b) from the clutch release cylinder.

2. Release the pipe from the retaining band.

3. Undo the retaining bolts.

4. Remove the operating cylinder from the engine compartment.

Refitting

Fit the clutch release cylinder to the gearbox and tighten the retaining bolts to torque.

Connect the oil pipe for the hydraulic clutch release cylinder.

Fit the clutch release cylinder guard and tighten the retaining bolts.

Remove the car from the ramps.
