Operation 1820B20 · HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SYSTEM

1.2 16v

Removing

Remove the car from the ramps.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Remove the clip (1a) and release the push rod (1b) for the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

1.4 16v

Removing

Remove the car from the ramps.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Remove the clip (1a) and release the push rod (1b) for the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

Remove the car from the ramps.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Remove the clip (1a) and release the push rod (1b) for the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Remove the clip (1a) and release the push rod (1b) for the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

Removing

Remove the car from the ramps.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper.

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Remove the clip (1a) and release the push rod (1b) for the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

Removing

Remove the car from the ramps.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper.

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Remove the clip (1a) and release the push rod (1b) for the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

Removing

Remove the car from the ramps.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper.

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Remove the clip (1a) and release the push rod (1b) for the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

2.4 20v

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve of one front brake caliper

Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.

Operate the brake pedal until the brake-clutch fluid reservoir is empty.

1. Remove the clip (1a) and release the push rod (1b) for the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

1.2 16v

1. Unscrew the rigid pipe connector.

2. Disconnect the hose to the brake clutch fluid reservoir.

3. Undo bolts (3a) and remove master cylinder (pump) (3b).

1.4 16v

1. Partly lift up the spring (1a) and disconnect the pipe (1b) on the hydraulic clutch damper.

2. Remove the fastening band (2a) and disconnect the brake/clutch fluid reservoir hose.

3. Undo nuts (3a) and remove master cylinder (pump) (3b).

1.6 16v

1. Raise the retaining clip (1a) and disconnect the fluid pipe (1b).

2. Disconnect the reservoir fluid hose.

3. Undo bolts (3a) and remove master cylinder (pump) (3b).

1.8 16v

1. Unscrew the rigid pipe connector.

2. Disconnect the hose to the brake clutch fluid reservoir.

3. Undo bolts (3a) and remove master cylinder (pump) (3b).

1.9 JTD 8v · 80 CV

1. Unscrew the rigid pipe connector.

2. Disconnect the hose to the brake clutch fluid reservoir.

3. Undo bolts (3a) and remove master cylinder (pump) (3b).

1.9 JTD 8v · 115 CV

1. Remove the retaining clip (1a) and disconnect the rigid pipe (1b).

2. Disconnect the hose to the brake clutch fluid reservoir.

3. Undo bolts (3a) and remove master cylinder (pump) (3b).

1.9 JTD 16v

1. Remove the retaining clip (1a) and disconnect the rigid pipe with the fluid cooling coil (1b).

2. Disconnect the hose to the brake clutch fluid reservoir.

3. Undo nuts (3a) and remove master cylinder (pump) (3b).

2.4 20v

1. Remove the fastening band and disconnect the brake/clutch fluid reservoir flexible pipe.

2. Retract the clip (2a) and place the vibration damper to the side of the clutch pump (2b).

3. Undo bolts (3a) and remove master cylinder (pump) (3b).

1.2 16v

Refitting

Refit the master cylinder (pump) in its housing and tighten the retaining screws

Connect the brake-clutch fluid reservoir hose.

Tighten the rigid pipe connectors.

Secure the pump master cylinder pushrod to the pedal.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.4 16v

Refitting

Refit the master cylinder (pump) in its housing and tighten the retaining nuts

Connect the brake-clutch fluid reservoir hose.

Fit the pipe with damper on the pump master cylinder, then close the retaining clip.

Secure the pump master cylinder pushrod to the pedal.

Connect the battery negative terminal.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.6 16v

Refitting

Refit the master cylinder (pump) in its housing and tighten the retaining screws

Connect the brake-clutch fluid reservoir hose.

Connect the fluid pipe to the pump master cylinder.

Secure the pump master cylinder pushrod to the pedal.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.8 16v

Refitting

Refit the master cylinder (pump) in its housing and tighten the retaining screws

Connect the brake-clutch fluid reservoir hose.

Tighten the rigid pipe connectors.

Secure the pump master cylinder pushrod to the pedal.

Remove the car from the ramps.

Refitting

Refit the master cylinder (pump) in its housing and tighten the retaining screws

Connect the brake-clutch fluid reservoir hose.

Tighten the rigid pipe connectors.

Secure the pump master cylinder pushrod to the pedal.

Remove the car from the ramps.

Refitting

Refit the master cylinder (pump) in its housing and tighten the retaining screws

Connect the brake-clutch fluid reservoir hose.

Tighten the rigid pipe connectors.

Secure the pump master cylinder pushrod to the pedal.

Remove the car from the ramps.

1.9 JTD 16v

Refitting

Refit the master cylinder (pump) in its housing and tighten the retaining nuts

Connect the brake-clutch fluid reservoir hose.

Connect the rigid pipe with the fluid cooling coil and fasten it using the special clip.

Secure the pump master cylinder pushrod to the pedal.

Remove the car from the ramps.

2.4 20v

Refitting

Refit the master cylinder (pump) in its housing and tighten the retaining screws to the recommended torque.

Pull the retaining clip back and fit the vibration damper in its seat on the clutch pump.

Connect the brake/clutch fluid reesrvoir flexible pipe and secure it using a suitable band.

Secure the pump master cylinder pushrod to the pedal.
