Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the rigid pipe to the inlet manifold.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the rigid pipe to the gearbox bell housing.

3. Disconnect the sleeve from the air-air heat exchanger (3a), then remove the rigid pipe (3b) complete with flexible section (3c).

Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

1. Open the band (1a) and release the brake servo vacuum pipe (1b).

2. Undo the bolts fixing the rigid pipe to the inlet manifold.

Separate the rigid section of the air delivery pipe from the flexible section.

1.9 JTD 16v

1. Undo the bolts fixing the rigid pipe to the gearbox bell housing.

2. Open the band and disconnect the rigid air supply pipe between the heat exchanger and the manifold from the rigid pipe from the air supply hose between the heat exchanger and the rigid pipe.

3. Remove the rigid air supply pipe between the heat exchanger and the manifold from the rigid pipe from the engine compartment.

Refitting

Use a new band to join the rigid section of the air deilvery pipe to the flexible section.

Connect the flexible section to the air-air heat exchanger.

Tighten the bolts securing the rigid section to the throttle body and gearbox.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

1.9 JTD 16v

Refitting

Fit the rigid air supply pipe between the heat exchanger and the manifold to the rigid pipe from the air supply hose between the heat exchanger and the rigid pipe.

Screw in the bolt fixing the rigid pipe to the bellhousing without tightening it to torque.

Tighten the bolts fixing the rigid pipe to the intake manifold.

Secure the brake servo vacuum pipe to the band.
