Operation 4410D13 · Frame and cross beam

Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 4450B12 front or rear wheels (two) - r+r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

1.2 16v

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 1072C16 exhaust manifold with catalytic converter - r r

1.6 16v

1. Undo the fixing nuts (1a) and disconnect the exhaust pipe (1b) from the manifold (1c).

1.8 16v

- 1076B26 intermediate exhaust silencer - r+r emission control versions

2.4 20v

- 1076B70 exhaust pipe between pre-catalytic converter and catalytic converter - r r

1.9 JTD 8v

- 1076B50 exhaust pipe attachment to engine - r + r

- 1008C30 power unit lower reaction link r r

- 1008C32 GEARBOX LOWER REACTION ROD ' -R.R.

- 4410B40 lower wishbone (with balljoint) of left or right front suspension (one) - r+r -check wheel geometry separately

1. Undo the bolts securing the anti-roll bar.

2. Undo the bolts securing the steering box to the crossmember.

Position a hydraulic jack under the crossmember.

3. Undo the bolts securing the crossmember to the bodyshell.

Lower the jack and remove the crossmember.

All versions

Refitting

Position the crossmember on a hydraulic jack and raise it until the crossmember is fully against the bodyshell.

Tighten to torque the bolts securing the crossmember brackets to the bodyshell.

Tighten to torque the bolts securing the crossmember to the bodyshell.

Tighten to torque the bolts securing the steering box to the crossmember.

Tighten to torque the bolts securing the anti-roll bar.

- 1008C32 GEARBOX LOWER REACTION ROD ' -R.R.

- 1008C30 power unit lower reaction link r r

- 1076B50 exhaust pipe attachment to engine - r + r

2.4 20v

- 1076B70 exhaust pipe between pre-catalytic converter and catalytic converter - r r

1.8 16v

- 1076B26 intermediate exhaust silencer - r+r emission control versions

1.6 16v

Position the exhaust pipe on the manifold and tighten the fixing nuts to the recommended torque.

1.2 16v

- 1072C16 exhaust manifold with catalytic converter - r r

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 4450B12 front or rear wheels (two) - r+r

Connect the battery negative terminal.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.
