SUN ROOF - Description

Description

The roof opening system takes the form of 5 glass segments that allow daylight into the car when closed and allow the roof compartment to be opened wide when open.

The roof is operated by turning the control knob clockwise to one of the 6 available opening positions.

The sky window comes with a sun blind that is controlled electrically by means of two buttons: this protects against excessive sunlight.

Opening of the glass segments affects blind opening because the blind follows the opening of the segments.

The blind is opened by pressing the appropriate button, but can never be opened to a lesser extent than the glass segments.

The roof's control electronics also has an anti-collision function: during roof closure, the movement is stopped and reversed by about 10 cm if - via a Hall-effect sensor located on the engine - an obstacle is detected.

This function can be excluded - for safety reasons - by pressing the knob as described above.

The circuit is controlled by the services relay and protected by two fuses, all located in the unit under the dashboard.

Movement takes place whether the ignition in ON or OFF.

With the ignition on, it takes place as described above; in addition during starting, this relay is temporarily deactivated.

When the ignition is off, the Body Computer keeps the relay activated - which also supplies the door mirrors - for 3 minutes, but deactivates it immediately when one of the two front doors is opened.

The windows are automatically closed by a specific prolonged command (over 3 seconds) sent by the remote control button, if the ignition is off;

The remote control receiver aerial is connected directly to the Body Computer which contains the electronics for the actual receiver.

Passive entry

Description

The RF aerial-receiver sends the Passive Entry control unit a door opening/closing signal in the same way as a conventional remote control. for further details. See E7018 PASSIVE ENTRY
