DIPPED BEAMS DESCRIPTION

Description

The low beams are activated by turning a wheel on the exterior lighting control unit to LOW

A relay in the underfacia control unit controls activation of the low beams via two lines protected by specific fuses.

The low beam activation relay is controlled by the Body Computer relay excitation is activated by an exterior lighting enablement signal from the exterior lighting control unit.

The body computer also manages the low beam maintenance function: when the high beams are turned on, the body comuter keeps the low beams on.

The follow me home function keeps the side lights and low beam on after turning off the engine (with key on STOP and exterior lighting control unit wheel on P PARK) for a time of 30 seconds or multiples thereof.

Side light maintenance is indicated on the instrument panel display. Activation is achieved by operating the light flasher stalk within 2 minutes of key-off. each time the lever is operated, the period for which the lights are kept on is increased by 30 seconds to a maximum of 210 seconds.

Maintance of the light flasher switch for longer than 2 seconds is not recognised as a follow me home function but leads to function deactivation with consequent deactivation of the low beams and side lights.
