ELECTRIC FRONT WINDOWS / NOT WORKING

1.2 8v, 1.3 Multijet, 1.4 16v

With the ignition in the ON position, when the buttons located in the dashboard are operated, the electric front windows do not work at all.

Test results

Connect using the Examiner to the Body Computer and check in active diagnosis that the electric windows are working properlyMove on to Step 3The motor is not workingMove on to Step 2

Check that the motor is working properly by providing it with a direct power supplyMove on to Step 3The motor is not working

Replace the defective motor

3ELECTRIC WINDOWS CONTROL CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation

Check:

  • That the electric windows control is working properly
  • That the electric windows control is correctly earthed
  • The continuity of the wiring between the electric window control and the Body Computer
Move on to Step 4

1. Electric window control defective

2. Electric window control earth

3. Wiring broken

1. Replace the switch

Op. 7005M10 ELECTRIC WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH (ONE) FOR ONE FRONT DOOR - R.R.

2. Restore the correct earth connection.

3. Restore correct wiring.

4POWER SUPPLY CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation

Check the following, in order:

  • Condition of dashboard junction unit fuses
  • Continuity of wiring between Body Computer and electric window motor

Move on to Step 5

1. Driver''s electric window fuse damaged

2. Passenger side electric window fuse damaged

3. Wiring broken

1. Replace the fuse F47 and find out what could have caused it to blow.

2. Replace the fuse F48 and find out what could have caused it to blow.

3. Renew/replace the wiring

5SERVICES RELAY POWER SUPPLY CHECK (POWER CIRCUIT)All OKProblems encounteredOperation

With the ignition ON check that when the electric windows are operated the supply is sent from the Body Computer to the motor.
