CLIMATE CONTROL RECIRCULATION NOT WORKING

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING

When the key on the switch panel is pressed, the recirculation function does not operate. The automatic climate control system comes only in the dual zone version.

1CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATION OF CLIMATE CONTROL NODEALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

When the vehicle engine is running, set the climate control system ECU to AUTO, operate the temperature knob to 22°C, set the fan speed to 8 bars and then press the recirculation key (check that the recirculation symbol appears on the display). Then feel the changes in air flow during flap open/closure. Also locate the grille in the engine compartment for the air intake casing and check the air intake when switching from recirculation to outside air intake.

"When the control unit is set to the FULL AUTO function and the outside temperature is below 3°C the air intake flap opens automatically to prevent the windscreen from misting up".

Move on to Step 21. The recirculation symbol does not appear on the display.1. Move on to Step 3

Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment and check:

  • that there are no errors in the air recirculation actuator.
Move on to Step 6Errors in the recirculation actuator.Move on to Step 3

Keeping the Examiner diagnostic equipment connected, check, through active diagnosis,

  • the correct operation of the air recirculation actuator
  • correct activation of all the graphic LCD symbols on the display

2. the recirculation symbol does not come on

2.Replace the climate control system control unit

4CHECK ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONSALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check whether the electrical wiring connections are loose.

Remove the control unit from the panel mount, disconnect the wiring connector from the control unit and check visually for any damage to the connector and reconnect correctly to check for false contacts.

Remove the oddments pocket and disconnect the connector, inspecting visually for any damage to it and reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator.

Move on to Step 5Electrical wiring connections loose or damaged.Renew the correct electrical connections
5RECIRCULATION MOTOR OPERATION CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Then proceed as follows: with the engine running, manually engage the recirculation air intake function with the fan at the maximum speed. If the actuator works and the flap is driven, feel that the type of air flow alters during the movement. Deactivate the function by returning the actuator to the original condition. Identify the air intake casing grille on the vehicle and check by feeling the air intake with your hand in the switch from recirculation to outside air and vice versa. If the result of the check is positive, do not replace the actuator. To check further in case of doubts on the operation of the actuator, it is possible to carry out the check using the procedure described in the test if the air intake casing is easily accessible,
