0OIL LEVEL CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check the oil level See Test 2127B OIL LEVEL CHECKContinue to Step 2Level below Max reference

Top up the oil level

Continue to Step 1

Level above Max reference

Reduce to Max level

Continue to Step 2

1CHECK FOR OIL LEAKSAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that there are no oil leaks See Test 2127C CHECK FOR FLUID LEAKSContinue to Step 2Oil leaks detected

Replace/repair the relevant parts, top up the oil level

Continue to Step 1

2OIL PRESSURE CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation

Check the oil pressure See Test 2127D OIL PRESSURE CHECK

Neutral for low pressure only exists if the vehicle is stationary or moving at low speed (about 10-15 km/h)

Continue to Step 4Pressure < 40 barContinue to Step 3
3CHECK PUMP OPERATIONAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the pump is working properly See Test 2127E ELECTRIC PUMP OPERATION CHECKContinue to Step 4Voltage below 11 V

Check the battery

Continue to Step 3

It is not possible to carry out gear changes from the lever

Activate the 'clutch bleed' service from the Examiner Plus or Smart to activate the pump

Continue to Step 3

4CHECK ON BRAKE PEDAL SWITCHAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the brake pedal switch is working See Test 2127F CHECK ON BRAKE PEDAL SWITCHContinue to Step 6The brake pedal switch is not working properly

Check the state of the connections, the wiring and the switch. Repair/replace the part that is not working.

Continue to Step 5

5AFTER THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the fault is no longer presentEnd of diagnosisThe fault persistsContinue to Step 6
6CONTROL UNIT ERRORS CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation

Check that there are no control unit errors. In particular:

  • Clutch sensor error
  • Clutch solenoid current error

If this type of error is present, for safety reasons (at speeds of below <5 km/h), the Selespeed control unit could request the injection control unit to switch off the engine; it is therefore advisable to carry out an engine management fault diagnosis.

Continue to Step 9Presence of one or more of the errors included in the listContinue to Step 7
7CHECKS ON FAULTS DETECTEDAll OKProblems metOperation
Check the faults See Test 2127I What to do depending on the error' present in the Selespeed control unit No accelerator pedal information.End of diagnosisConnections fault (Clutch sensor and/or Clutch solenoid current)

Repair/replace the wiring

Continue to Step 8

There are no connection faults (Clutch sensor)

Replace the clutch actuator (CSC) and check its operation by carrying out a gear change.

Continue to Step 8

There are no connection faults (Clutch solenoid current)

Replace the solenoid valve Op. 2127C56and check its operation by carrying out a gear change.

Continue to Step 8

8AFTER THE CHECKS ON FAULTS DETECTEDAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the fault is no longer presentEnd of diagnosisThe fault persistsContinue to Step 9
9CHECK THE CLUTCH SENSOR WIRING LAYOUTAll OKProblems metOperation
Check the state of the connections, continuity of the wiring (it is important to pay particular attention to the layout of the clutch position sensor wiring in the engine compartment: the wire must not be too taut, and it must have sufficient slack)Continue to Step 10A fault is detected

Repair/replace the part that is not working

Continue to Step 10

10CHECK THAT THE CLUTCH IS NOT DRAGGINGAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the clutch is not dragging See Test 2127K CLUTCH DRIVE CHECKContinue to Step 12The clutch drags

Proceed with checking the clutch/flywheel kit and, if necessary, replace any components that do not conform.

Continue to Step 11

11AFTER THE INTERVENTION ON THE CLUTCH KITAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the fault is no longer presentEnd of diagnosisThe fault persistsContinue to Step 12
12CHECK THAT THERE ARE NO ERRORS ON OTHER SYSTEMSAll OKProblems metOperation
