REAR FOG LAMPS - Description

3 doors

Description

The vehicle is equipped with two bright rear fog lamps located in the rear light clusters.

The rear fog lamps are activated via the button on the left side of the panel; when the lights are on, the warning light in the instrument panel comes on.

The switching on of the rear fog lamp is managed by the Body Computer: it is activated in the following conditions:

  • go ahead signal with ignition ON (INT);
  • signal coming from the switch;
  • side lights on signal.
  • headlamps signal (dipped or main beam) or fog lights on.

If one of the go ahead signals is missing, the button must be pressed again in order to switch the rear fog lamps on.

The correct operation of the light is controlled by the rear fog lamp 'check' function: the following are checked:

  • open circuit (bulb missing or wiring broken) which can be diagnosed if there is no command
  • short circuit to earth (bulb short circuit or wiring short circuit to earth)
  • short circuit to Vbatt (wiring short circuit to Vbatt)
  • 21 W bulb replaced with a 5 W bulb

If one of the situations described above is detected, the Body Computer notifies the CAN of the failure state: the special 'lights failure' warning light in the instrument panel comes on and, at the same time, the information is shown on the display.
