MAIN BEAMS DESCRIPTION
Description
The vehicle is equipped with two main in the headlamps.
The main beams are switched on by the steering column switch unit:
- with the dipped beams on, by pushing the lever towards the dashboard (stable mode)
- in flashing mode, by pulling the lever toward the steering wheel (unstable mode)
A special relay in the engine compartment junction unit controls the activation of the main beams via two lines protected by specific fuses.
The main beam activation relay is managed by the body computer: relay excitation is activated by enablement signals with key in position M and a specific stalk switch command.
Activation/deactivation information is sent via the CAN network: in this way, the main beam warning light is activated in the instrument panel.
The body computer also manages the dipped beam maintenance function: when the main beams are turned on, the body computer keeps the dipped beams on.
