DIFFERENTIAL LH OIL SEAL - ’T’ SERIES

Service repair no - 54.10.18

Remove

  1. Raise front of vehicle.

WARNING: Support on safety stands.

  1. Remove road wheel(s).
  2. Position drain tin to collect oil spillage from gearbox.

  1. Remove nut and bolt securing damper fork to lower arm and clamping bolt securing fork to damper.
  2. Release fork from damper then remove from lower arm.
  3. Remove split pin from lower ball joint nut and remove nut.
Differential lh oil seal - ’t’ series – Remove split pin from lower ball joint nut and remove nut.
  1. Break ball joint taper joint using tool 18G 1707 and release hub from lower arm.

CAUTION: Do not damage the ball joint boot.

  1. Insert 18G 1578 between drive shaft housing and gearbox to disengage drive shaft circlip from differential. Withdraw drive shaft from differential by pulling on inboard joint housing.
