ADDITIONAL/REPLACEMENT KEYS

NOTE: In order to supply a customer with additional or replacement keys, the customer must first supply the Learning (RED) key and ALL remaining keys. In addition, TestBook will be required to complete the procedure.

The following procedure will also make invalid any BLACK keys which have been lost.

  1. Insert the RED key in the starter switch and turn to position ’II’. The Engine Immobiliser warning light will flash rapidly. Switch off and remove the key. The system is now ready to accept signals from BLACK keys.
  2. Within 20 seconds, insert one of the known BLACK keys and turn to position ’II’. The Engine Immobiliser warning light will flash rapidly. Switch off and remove the key.
  3. Within 20 seconds, insert the remaining known or replacement BLACK key and turn to position ’II’. The Engine Immobiliser warning light will flash rapidly. Switch off and remove the key.
  4. Within 20 seconds, insert the additional BLACK key (if required) and turn to position ’II’. The Engine Immobiliser warning light will flash rapidly. Switch off and remove the key.
  5. Insert any further keys and repeat the above step, as required.

NOTE: The immobilisation system can store up to 5 key codes

  1. Insert the RED key, turn to position ’II’. The Engine Immobiliser warning light will flash slowly. Switch off and remove the key.

NOTE: Any BLACK keys not inserted in this sequence will be deleted.

  1. Finally, use TestBook to teach the Engine Control Module the code from the new/additional keys.
  • CAUTION: Without this step, the engine
  • WILL NOT START, even though the starter
  • will crank the engine.

ENGINE IMMOBILISATION SYSTEM

The engine immobilisation system is completely independent of the alarm system and is activated immediately the starter switch is turned off. The system is re-activated when the key is inserted in the starter switch and the switch is turned to position ’II’.

Keys

Each car has 3 keys; two BLACK keys which are for the starter switch, door locks, boot lock and glove box lock, and a RED key which is to signal the immobilisation system to enter the learning mode, so that additional or replacement keys can be added to the system.

  • CAUTION: If the RED key or all BLACK
  • keys are lost, a new immobilisation
  • control unit and matching set of RED and
  • BLACK keys will be required.
  • NOTE: The RED key will not start the
  • engine. NEVER use the RED key for any
  • purpose other than adding or replacing
  • keys.
