  1. Using a chisel, cut lock tab on idler shaft locknut.

CAUTION: Remove all metal particles.

Using a chisel, cut lock tab on idler shaft locknut.
  1. Remove and discard input shaft locknut.

NOTE: LH thread

  1. Remove tool 18G 1530.
  2. Remove 1st clutch, thrust washer, thrust needle bearing and needle bearing from input shaft. Remove and discard 2 ’O’ rings.
  3. Remove input shaft 1st gear, thrust washer and 1st gear collar from input shaft.
Remove input shaft 1st gear, thrust washer and 1st gear collar from input shaft.
  1. Remove and retain output shaft locknut.

NOTE: Locknut will be required when checking gear clearances.

  1. Slide parking brake pawl off shaft, recover spring.
  2. Using a suitable puller, remove parking gear, one-way clutch and output shaft 1st gear as an assembly.

CAUTION: Do not carry out further dismantling of clutch at this stage.

  1. Remove needle bearing and 1st gear collar from output shaft.
