Gear selector shaft: repairing Special tools and workshop equipment required

1 -	Selector shaft

2 -	Limit ring

3 -	Ball bearing bush

q	Remove → Fig.

q	Fit → Fig.

4 -	Selector rod cover

5 -	Reversing light switch

20 Nm

q	Apply a fine coat of MoS2 grease to the lug

q	For gearbox breather

7 -	Return lever

q	Installation position → Fig.

8 -	Bearing bush

Oil seal

q	Remove levering with a screwdriver

q	Fit → Fig.

10 -	Spring washer

11 -	Hexagon nut

q	Always renew

12 -	Selection rod

q	Position so that the interrupted division of the teeth is adjusted to the selector rod

q	Can be replaced with gearbox in vehicle

q	Installation position → Fig.

13 -	Sealing cap

Removing gear selector shaft bearing –  Before removing the ball bearing, break the plastic cage and remove the balls. –  The balls are removed with tool -U-40300/4- unexpanded.

Fit the ball bearing in the connection cover

Fit the oil seal as far as it will go
