HEATER PLUGS WARNING LIGHT ON CONSTANTLY
The Engine Management Node sends the message via the C-CAN to the Body Computer which makes it available to the Instrument Panel Node via the B-CAN.
| Results of the tests | ||||
| 1 | PRELIMINARY CHECKS | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment and check for the following at the CAN:
| Continue to Step 6 | Impossible to converse with the Body Computer | Continue to Step 2 | |
| Instrument Panel Node not activated and/or faulty | Continue to Step 5 | |||
| Engine Management Node not activated and/or faulty | Continue to Step 8 | |||
| Presence of faults in the CAN network | Continue to Step 11 | |||
| 2 | CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Using the Examiner, check the possibility of connecting with the Body Computer Node, that there are no errors and that the following parameters are present | Continue to Step 1 | Impossible to connect with the Body Computer control unit | Continue to Step 3 | |
| There are errors | Continue according to the instructions for the diagnostic equipment | |||
| 3 | ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY CHECK | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Check that the electrical power supply for the Body Computer Node is correct and that the wiring between the nodes is correct, in particular that each individual pin is correctly connected | Continue to Step 4 | Positive and/or earth electrical power supply faulty | Replace the component involved (if a fuse is involved, search for the cause of the problem) | |
| Electrical connections not working | Restore the correct operation of the wiring | |||
| 4 | CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Using the Examiner, check the possibility of connecting with the Body Computer Node | Continue to Step 2 | Impossible to connect with the Body Computer | Replace the Body Computer Op. | |
| 5 | CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Using the Examiner check, in the Instrument Panel Node ambient, that there are no errors and the following parameters are present. | Continue to Step 8 | System fault. | Continue to Step 6 | |
| Presence of faults in the CAN network | Continue to Step 11 | |||
| There are errors | Continue according to the instructions for the diagnostic equipment | |||
| 6 | ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY CHECK | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Check that the node electrical power supply is correct. Check the wiring between the Body Computer and the Instrument Panel, in particular that each individual pin is correctly connected | Continue to Step 7 | Positive and/or earth electrical power supply faulty | Replace the component involved (if a fuse is involved, search for the cause of the problem) | |
| Electrical connections not working | Restore the correct operation of the wiring | |||
| 7 | CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Using the Examiner check, in the Instrument Panel Node ambient, that there are no errors and the following parameters are present. | Continue to Step 8 | Fault persists | Replace the instrument panel Op. | |
| 8 | CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
Keeping the diagnostic equipment connected, check for the following at the Engine Management Node:
| Continue to Step 6 | System/components fault | Continue to Step 9 | |
| Presence of faults in the CAN network | Continue to Step 11 | |||
| There are errors | Continue as instructed by the tester | |||
| 9 | ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY CHECK | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Check that the node electrical power supply is correct. Check the wiring between the Body Computer and the NCM, in particular that each individual pin is correctly connected | Continue to Step 10 | Positive and/or earth electrical power supply faulty | Replace the component involved (if a fuse is involved, search for the cause of the problem) | |
| Electrical connections not working | Restore the correct operation of the wiring | |||
| 10 | CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Using the Examiner check, in the Engine Management Node ambient, that there are no errors and the following parameters are present | Continue to Step 8 | Fault persists | Replace the Engine Management Node Op. | |
| 11 | ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY CHECK | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Check that the supply / electrical connections of the node(s). Check the (network) wiring between the Engine Management, Body Computer and Instrument Panel, in particular, that each individual pin is correctly connected at each node | Continue to Step 1 | Positive and/or earth electrical power supply faulty | Replace the component involved (if a fuse is involved, search for the cause of the problem) | |
| Electrical connections not working | Restore the correct operation of the wiring | |||
| 12 | CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATION | All OK | Problems met | Operation |
| Check that the fault is no longer present | End of diagnosis | The fault persists | Continue to Step 1 | |
