AUTOMATIC ANTI-GLARE FUNCTION TEST

Check 7065CD

1.2 8v, 1.3 Multijet, 1.4 16v

When driving at nightime if the switch is in the ON position the mirror detects the main beam headlamps of following vehicles and dims automatically to eliminate any glare that could dazzle the driver.

Activation of automatic anti-glare function

If the green LED (A) is on, the automatic anti-glare function is activated.

To switch the function on, keep switch (B) pressed for 3 seconds until the LED comes on.

Once the switch is released, the automatic anti-glare function is activated.

With reverse engaged the anti-dazzle function is therefore excluded

Preliminary check

To check the mirror anti-glare function it is necessary to:

  • turn the switch to the ON position;
  • cover the light sensor at the back of the rear view mirror with black tape;
  • shine a light beam on the sensor at the front of the mirror simulating the main beam headlamp from a following vehicle.

During the first test the mirror should get dark in 2 minutes if

It is working properly

1

Power supply check

Turn the key to the MAR position

Using an Examiner in voltmeter mode, check that there is a 12 V battery voltage between pin 1 and earth

See E3032 DOOR MIRROR ADJUSTMENT

Renew the wiring between pin 24 of the Body computer and pin 1 of the mirror connector

Replace fuse F49 of the dashboard junction unit after having identified the cause of the break

2

Check earth connection

Disconnect the mirror connector

Using the Examiner in ohmmeter mode, check that the resistance between pin 2 and earth is less then 1 ohm

See E3032 DOOR MIRROR ADJUSTMENT

Restore the connection between pin 2 of the mirror connector and earth in the area of the left rear light cluster
3

Reverse gear signal check

Turn the key to the MAR position

Disengage reverse gear

Using an Examiner in voltmeter mode, check that there is a 0 V battery voltage between pin 3 and earth

See E2022 REVERSING LIGHTS

Restore the correct insulation for the wiring

Replace the reversing switch
