  1. Remove the lower screw (1a) fastening the front alternator bracket (1b) to the engine.

  1. Remove the alternator from the lower right engine compartment.

Refitting

  • Position the alternator in the engine compartment and screw the lower screw fastening the front bracket to the engine.
Attachment Component Ø Value (daNm)
- Screw Complete alternator M10x 5.7÷7.14

  • Reconnect the alternator electric connection.
  • Reconnect the electric wire to the positive alternator terminal and screw the fastening nut.
  • Reposition the alternator bracket and screw the two fastening screws.
  • Screw the two screws fastening the alternator front bracket to the crankcase.

- Screw Complete alternator M10x 5.7 - 7.14

  • Reposition the engine coolant reservoir and screw the two fastening screws.
  • Complete with Op. 5040A20 - AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR R.R. - INCLUDING CHECK AND TOPPING UP OIL, IF REQUIRED
  • Complete with Op. 1092B70 - BELT FROM AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR TO ALTERNATOR - TENSION ADJUSTMENT.

Do not start the engine if the recharging circuit electric connections are provisional or loose. This could damage the alternator diodes. This could damage the alternator diodes. Do not perform tests on the electronic regulator with warning lights. This could damage the regulator.

Disassembly

  • Perform Op. 5530A30 - ALTERNATOR PULLEY OR FAN R.R. WITH ALTERNATOR REMOVED.
  • Perform Op. 5530A24 - ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE REGULATOR R.R. WITH ALTERNATOR REMOVAL.
