	Check: – correct operation of alternator voltage regulator – connections between alternator and battery		All OK Go to Step 4	Faulty voltage regulator	Replace voltage regulator PROCEDURE OP. 5530A22
			Incorrect connections	Restore connections (Wiring diagram: E5010 "STARTING AND RECHARGING") or replace damaged components PROCEDURE 5530A and 5530B
4	CHECK CORRECT OPERATION		All OK	Problems found	Intervention
4	Check the fault is no longer present		End of test	Fault persists	Seek the fault starting from another symptom (the noise was not interpreted correctly: see Glossary) Finally check operation of the units driven by the belt: – water pump – conditioner compressor (where relevant)
