Single cam cover - r + r and replace gasket

1.8 16v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 1016A40 ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r

- 5510C14 ignition coil/s - r+r

- 1080D34 engine oil vapour separator - r + r

Release the electrical wiring for the ignition coils from the retaining spring and place the wiring to the side.

1. Undo the fixing bolt (1a) and disconnect the oil vapour recovery pipe (1b) from the tappet cover.

2. Unscrew the retaining bolts

3. Remove the cam cover.

2.4 20v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Ensure that the ignition key is in the OFF position, then disconnect the negative battery terminal.

- 1016A40 ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r.

- 5510C14 ignition coil/s - r+r.

Release the wiring for the ignition coils from the fastenings on the tappet cover.

1. Disconnect the engine oil vapour recovery pipes from the tappet cover.

1.9 JTD 8v

Removing

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

1. Disconnect the two oil vapour pipes from the tappet cover.

2. Unscrew the retaining bolts

3. Remove the cam cover.

1.8 16v

Refitting

Clean any sealant residues from the tappet cover and the plane in contact with the cylinder head.

Renew the sealant on the head plane and the tappet cover.

Fit the cam cover and tighten the bolts to torque.

Connect the engine oil vapour pipe to the cam cover.

Renew the electrical wiring for the ignition coils and secure it to the retaining bands.

- 5510C14 ignition coil/s - r+r

- 1016A40 ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r

Connect the battery negative terminal.

2.4 20v

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the tappet cover (1b), complete with seal.

1.9 JTD 8v

Refitting

Fit the tappet cover on the cylinder head.

Tighten the bolts fixing the tappet cover to torque.

Connect the oil vapour pipes to the tappet cover.

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

2.4 20v

Refitting

Fit the tappet cover, complete with a new seal, and fix it tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

Connect the engine oil vapour recovery pipes to the tappet cover.

- 5510C14 ignition coil/s - r+r

- 1016A40 ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r

Connect the battery negative terminal.
