Operation 1056B15 · Multi-point injection system (mpi)

1.2 16v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R..

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 1048A32 sleeve from air cleaner to intake manifold - r + r

1. Disconnect the electrical connection of the throttle body actuator.

2. Undo the fixing bolts (2a) and move the mounting bracket (2b), complete with injection control unit, aside.

3. Undo the fixing bolt (3a) and remove the butterfly casing (3b).

1.4 16v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R..

Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

- 1048A32 sleeve from air cleaner to intake manifold - r + r

1. Disconnect the electrical connection of the throttle body actuator.

2. Undo the fixing bolts (2a) and move the mounting bracket (2b), complete with injection control unit, aside.

3. Undo the fixing bolt (3a) and remove the butterfly casing (3b).

1.6 16v

Removing

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

- 1048A32 sleeve from air cleaner to intake manifold - r + r

1. Undo the retaining clip and release the system pipe

2. Disconnect the electrical connections.

3. Remove the three bolts (3a) and move bracket (3b) aside.

4. Undo the retaining bolt (4a) and remove throttle body (4b).

1.2 16v

Refitting

Position the throttle body and tighten the fixing bolt.

Fit the injection control unit mounting bracket and secure it using the bolts.

Connect the electrical connector for the butterfly casing actuator.

Connect the battery negative terminal.

1.4 16v

Refitting

Position the throttle body and tighten the fixing bolt.

Fit the injection control unit mounting bracket and secure it using the bolts.

Connect the electrical connection to the throttle body actuator.

Connect the battery negative terminal.

1.6 16v

Refitting

Replace the throttle body with bracket back in its housing and fix it tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

Restore the electrical connection and secure the cooling system pipe using the retaining clip.

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

If the throttle body integrated with MDS is replaced, re-initialise the injection-ignition control unit
