1.2 16v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

1. Use an ordinary bracket and secure to the point shown on the power unit.

2. Use tool (2a) to anchor hook (2b) to the bracket.

1.4 16v

Removing

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

1. Use an ordinary bracket and secure to the point indicated on the power unit.

2. Use tool (2a) and anchor hook (2b) to the bracket.

Removing

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

- 1048A32 sleeve from air cleaner to intake manifold - r + r

- 1048A21 filter input sleeve - r r

- 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace

1. Place a crossmember, resting on the suspension turrets, in a lengthwise position.

2. Position the crossmember (2a) transversely, rest the front section (2b) on the crossmember and secure the rear section, using a bolt, to the crossmember positioned previously.

3. Position a suitable hook and tension the engine.

Removing

1. Fit the tool (1a), complete with support mountings (1b).

2. Fit the tools (2a) and (2b), then connect them using links (2c) to the brackets fitted previously.

2.4 20v

Removing

Place the car on a lift.

Raise the car.

- 4450B02 left front wheel r r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

1. Release the flexible buffer for the flexible section of the exhaust pipe from the pin on the bodyshell.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the lower rod to the bracket on the gearbox.

1.9 JTD 16v

Removing

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

Position a hydraulic safety device and engine support underneath the bellhousing.

Open the band and release the clutch release oil pipe from it.

1. Undo the nut fixing the mounting to the rigid support.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the flexible mounting to the bodyshell.

3. Remove the flexible mounting from the engine compartment.

1. Unscrew the nut securing the flexible block to the engine mount.

2. Unscrew the bolts retaining the flexible block to the body.

1.4 16v

1. Unscrew the nut securing the flexible block to the engine mount.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the flexible mounting to the bodyshell.

1.6 16v

1. Undo the nut fixing the rigid support.

2. Undo the bolts (2a) fixing the strut and remove the flexible mounting (2b).

1.8 16v

1. Undo the bolt securing the block to the rigid mount.

2. Unscrew the bolts retaining the block to the body.

3. Remove the flexible block

2.4 20v

1. Undo the bolts securing the shock absorber strut.

2. Release the inner driveshaft (2a) from the differential and move the right driveshaft (2b) outside of the work area.

1.9 JTD 16v

Refitting

Fit the flexible block in the seat in the engine bay.

Tighten the flexible block bolts to torque.

Tighten the nut fixing the flexible mounting to the rigid support to torque.

Secure the clutch release oil pipe to the plastic band on the flexible mounting.

Remove the hydraulic safety device and engine support from underneath the bellhousing.

Refitting

Fit the flexible block and tighten the bolts securing it to the body to torque.

Tighten the nut securing the flexible block to the engine mount to torque.

Remove the tool and bracket used to support the power unit.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

1.4 16v

Refitting

Fit the flexible block and tighten the bolts securing it to the body to torque.

Tighten the nut securing the flexible block to the engine mount to torque.

Remove the device and the bracket used to support the power unit.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

1.6 16v

Refitting

Place the flexible mounting back in its housing and tighten the bolts fixing it to the strut to the recommended torque.

Tighten the nut fixing it to the rigid support to the recommended torque.

Remove the crossmembers positioned previously for supporting the engine.

- 1048A32 sleeve from air cleaner to intake manifold - r + r

- 5530B52 Battery DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

1.8 16v

Refitting

Fit the gearbox side flexible mounting.

Tighten the flexible block bolts to torque.

Tighten the nut fixing the flexible mounting to the rigid support to torque.

Remove the tools supporting the power unit positioned previously.

2.4 20v

Position a hydraulic arm support under the gearbox assembly.

1. Open the fastening band (1a) and release the pipe (1b) for the hydraulic clutch release.

2. Undo the nut fixing the mounting to the rigid support.

Using the hydraulic arm support, gently lower the power unit.

3. Undo the fixing bolts (3a) and remove the flexible mounting (3b).

Refitting

Fit the flexible mounting in place.

Tighten the flexible block bolts to torque.

Using the hydraulic arm support, gently raise the power unit.

Tighten the nut fixing the flexible mounting to the rigid support to torque.

Fit the inner driveshaft in the housing on the differential.

Tighten the bolts fixing the shock absorber to the specified torque.

Tighten the bolt fixing the lower rod to the bracket on the gearbox to torque.

Secure the rubber buffer to the pin on the bodyshell.

Lower the vehicle.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.
