ELECTRIC WINDOW OPERATION

Electric window operation
  1. Passenger window switches - Driver’s control
  2. Master control switch - passenger windows
  3. Individual window switch
  4. Window relay
  5. Window lift control unit

The four window lift system is controlled by switches fitted to the driver’s door trim pad, to each rear door trim pad and the centre console. The window isolation switch and front and rear passenger’s window switches are incorporated in the centre console. The driver can control all passenger windows and inhibit the operation of passenger’s window switches by switching off the isolation switch as necessary.

The two window lift system has the window isolation switch and front passenger’s window switch incorporated in the centre console. A single window switch is fitted to the driver’s door trim pad.

When the ignition is switched on, the electric window relay located on the passenger’s compartment fuseboard switches battery supply to the window circuit.

Battery supply from the electric window relay to the window lift control unit and door window switches is via fuses (20 A), one for each door, located in the passenger compartment fuse box.
