Removing

1. Undo bolts (1a) and place Air Bag control unit (1b) to one side.

1. Disconnect the electrical connection and remove the knee airbag.

- Place the knee Air Bag module in the special cupboard resting it on a free surface with the bag facing upwards.

Refitting

Handle the knee Air Bag module very carefully. Make sure that the battery is disconnected.

If a new knee Air Bag is being fitted, position the labels. Remove the removable part of the adhesive label from the new knee Air Bag and place it in a special file giving the vehicle details (model, registration details, chassis no.) and the serial number of the old knee Air Bag. The file should be kept for future checks. A new adhesive plate comes with the knee Air Bag and should be stuck on top of the existing one. Before sticking it, it should be perforated at the month and 14 years after the year in which the module is being fitted (e.g. 2021 for 2007).

1. - Position the knee Air Bag and connect the electrical connection.

- Place the knee Air Bag in position and tighten the bolts.

- Connect the battery terminals

- Use Examiner to check for errors and remove any that may be present.
