DIPPED HEADLIGHTS - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The dipped headlamps activation signal is sent to pin 2 of connector I of the Body Computer M1 from the steering column switch unit H5

The Body Computer M1 receives a direct supply from the battery via the line protected by maxifuse B99 at pin 18 of connector F of the interface with the junction unit under the dashboard B2; the ignition-controlled supply (INT) reaches pin 9 of connector F of the interface with the junction unit B2.

The dipped headlamps are also activated if the dusk sensor K125 is present (A-BUS signal from pin 10 of connector D of M1) and the AUTO function is set at the steering column switch unit H5 (signal at pin 4 of connector I of M1).

The dusk sensor K125 receives a power supply from the INT line protected by fuse F49 of junction unit B2.

The Body Computer M1 controls the supply for the dipped headlamps sending an earth signal to the junction unit under the dashboard B2 from pin 8 of connector F of M1 which energizes relay T1: this supplies the dipped headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right). Each circuit is protected by a fuse in the junction unit B2: F13 for the left headlamp and F12 for the right.

The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the "general failure" warning light if the dusk sensor fails.

The Body Computer M1 controls the supply for the dipped headlamps sending an earth signal to relay T1 in the junction unit under the dashboard B2 from pin 8 of connector F of M1 which energizes relay T1: this supplies the dipped headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right). Each circuit is protected by a fuse in the junction unit B2: F13 for the left headlamp and F12 for the right.

The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the "general failure" warning light if the dusk sensor fails.

The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the "general failure" warning light if the dusk sensor fails.

Both electronic systems inside the headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right) are supplied - pin 6 - from the INT line of junction unit B2 protected by fuse F37.

Pins 9 of the two control units are connected to one another by means of a special serial line, whilst the speedometer signal from the Body Computer M1 (pin 37 of connector B) reaches pin 5 of the junction unit located in headlamp F10.

Pins 11 of the two headlamps are connected to the diagnostic K line

See E8010 DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR

The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the "dipped headlamps on" warning light and, if there are problems detected in the circuit, the specific warning light.
