REVERSING LIGHTS - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Right hand drive

Operational Description

The reversing lights switch:

• at pin 1 receives an ignition-operated supply from the line protected by fuse F31;
• at pin 2, when reverse gear is engaged, supplies the signal to the body computer node M001, at pin 1 connector C.

The body computer node, receives the signal:

• at pin 1 connector F supplies the reversing light, housed inside the left rear light cluster F030;

• at pin 6 connector F, sends the signal to the parking sensor control unit (where fitted) M084

The left rear light cluster F030 has a reference earth C030, secured to the left rear wheel arch (passenger compartment interior).

Functional description

The reversing light switch:

• pin 1 receives an ignition-operated power supply from a line protected by fuse F31;
• pin 2 supplies a signal to body computer node M001 pin 1 connector C when reverse is engaged.

The body computer, after receiving the signal:

• pin 1 connector F supplies the reversing light housed inside right tail-light F031;
• pin 6 connector F sends a signal to parking sensor control unit (where present) M084 See E3090 PARKING SENSOR.

right tail-light F031 refers to earth C030 secured to the left rear tail-light (inside passenger compartment).
