2 CHECK IGNITION INHIBIT RELAY J81 AND WIRING
Remove relay J81.
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Volts) as follows:
- red probe on relay J81 base pin 30
- black probe to earth
Turn the key to AVV and check the presence of battery voltage		 Perform the following check No battery voltage found at relay J81 Restore connection between 12 V (+ 50) power line and relay J81 base pin 30
(wiring diagram: E7040 "ELECTRONIC CLUTCH")
Turn the key to MAR.
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Volts) as follows:
- red probe to relay J81 base pin 86
- black probe to earth.
Check the presence of battery voltage		 Perform the following check If no battery voltage is found, relay coil is not powered Restore connection between 12 V (15/54) power line and relay J81 base pin 86
(wiring diagram: E7040 "ELECTRONIC CLUTCH")
Remove relay J81. Disconnect ECU connector M85 and connect a digital multimeter (set to read Ohm) between relay J81 base pin 85 and connector M85 pin 25.
~ 0 should be read. Ω		 Go to Step 3 If the instrument reads > 10 Ω the connection between relay and ECU is uncertain Restore connection between relay J81 base pin 85 and ECU M85 pin 25 (wiring diagram: E7040 "ELECTRONIC CLUTCH")
3 CHECK GEAR SELECTION POTENTIOMETER K93
Remove connector K93.
Turn the key to MAR.
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Volts) as follows:
- black probe to earth connector K93 pin 1
- red probe to connector K93 pin 3.
~ 5 V voltage should be read.		 Go to step 4 No voltage is read. The ECU is not powered. Perform the next check
Turn the key to STOP.
Remove connectors K93 and M85.
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Ohm) between connector K93 pin 1 and connector M85 pin 13.
~ 0 should be read.Ω		 Perform the next check If > 10 Ω is read, the connection between ECU and potentiometer internal resistance is uncertain. Restore the connection between connector K93 pin 1 and connector M85 pin 13 (wiring diagram: E7040 "ELECTRONIC CLUTCH")
