CHECK GEAR SELECTION POTENTIOMETER K93
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Ohm) between connector K93 pin 2 and connector M85 pin 41.
~ 0 should be read. Ω
Perform the next check If > 10 Ω is read, the connection between the potentiometer cursor and the ECU is uncertain. Restore connection between connector K93 pin 2 and connector M85 pin 41
(wiring diagram: E7040 "ELECTRONIC CLUTCH")
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Ohm) between connector K93 pin 3 and connector M85 pin 14.
>1 kΩ should be read.
Perform the next check If < 1 kΩ is read, there is a short circuit to earth. Restore correct connection (wiring diagram: E7040 "ELECTRONIC CLUTCH")
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Ohm) between connector K93 pin 2 and earth.
>1 kΩ should be read.
Go to Step 4 If < 1 kΩ is read, there is a short circuit to earth. Restore correct connection (wiring diagram: E7040 "ELECTRONIC CLUTCH")
4 CHECK GEAR SELECTION POTENTIOMETER K93
Disconnect connector K93. Turn the key to STOP.
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Ohm) between gear selection potentiometer pins 1 and 3.
~ 5 kΩ should be read.
Perform the next check If a value other than ~ 5 kΩ is read, the potentiometer resistance is damaged or broken. Replace gear selection potentiometer K93
PROCEDURE OP. 1820E64
Connect a digital multimeter (set to read Ohm) between gear selection potentiometer pins 1 and 2.
A value between 2 - 5 k should be readΩ
Go to Step 5 Move the potentiometer lever (complete range). If a value other than 2 - 5 kΩ is read, the potentiometer cursor is damaged. Replace gear selection potentiometer K93
