Front pipe (up to 2000my)

FRONT PIPE (UP TO 2000MY)

Service repair no - 30.10.09

Remove

1. Raise rear of vehicle.

WARNING: Support on safety stands.

2. Remove 4 nuts from manifold flange joint
3. Remove and discard gasket from flange.
4. Remove nut and special washer securing rear silencer clamp.
5. Disconnect rubber mounting from front pipe.
6. Remove 3 nuts securing front pipe to catalytic converter.
7. Remove rear silencer clamp from flange joint.
8. Remove front pipe from vehicle.
9. Remove and discard gasket, front pipe to catalytic converter.

Refit

1. Clean all mating faces.
2. Position a NEW flange gasket and fit front pipe to manifold, tighten nuts to 50 Nm.
3. Position a NEW gasket and fit front pipe to catalytic converter, position rear silencer clamp bracket to flange studs, fit nuts and tighten to 50 Nm.
4. Connect rubber mounting to front pipe.
5. Align rear silencer clamp, fit special washer, fit nut and tighten to 30 Nm.
6. Remove stand(s) and lower vehicle.

CAUTION: Ensure exhaust system is free from leaks. Exhaust gas leaks upstream of the catalyst could cause internal damage to the catalyst.

FRONT PIPE (2001MY ON)

Service repair no - 30.10.09

Remove

1. Disconnect battery earth lead.
2. Remove pre catalyst HO₂S.See FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM, Repairs.

3. Remove 6 nuts, release front pipe from exhaust manifold and discard gasket.

4. Remove nut and washer from silencer clamp.
5. Remove 3 nuts securing front pipe to catalyst.
6. Remove clamp from silencer.
