EGR SOLENOID OPERATION CHECK

| 1 | Press the START/STOP button and turn off the engine. Disconnect the cable loom connector from the EGR solenoid Press the START/STOP button. Measure the voltage between Pin 1 of the wiring side connector and Earth. Ensure it is greater than 11V. Press the START/STOP button. Move on to Step 4 | Move on to Step 2 |
| 2 | In the engine compartment junction unit, remove fuse F11 (third in the lower row) See B001 ENGINE COMPARTMENT JUNCTION UNIT Press the START/STOP button. Check the voltage between the fuse inlet contact and earth. Ensure it is greater than 11 V. | Replace the junction unit Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R. |
| 3 | If fualts are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine compartment junction unit and the solenoid. | 4 | Disconnect the cable loom connector from engine management control unit connector B See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT Press the START/STOP button. Measure the voltage between Pin 2 of the EGR solenoid wiring side connector and Earth. Ensure it is less than 0.3 V. | Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid |
| 5 | Press the START/STOP button. Measure the resistance between Pin 2 of the EGR solenoid wiring side connector and Earth. Ensure it is greater than 500 kOhm. | Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid |
| 6 | Measure the resistance between Pin 2 of the EGR solenoid wiring side connector and Pin 60 of engine control unit wiring side connector B. Ensure it is less than 5 Ohms. See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT Reconnect the cable loom connectors to the EGR solenoid and the engine management control unit | Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid |
| 7 | Replace the solenoid and check that the fault has disappeared | Repair the original EGR solenoid and replace the engine management control unit |
