1.9 JTD 8v

Removing

- 1072C44 exhaust manifold heat shield on bulkhead - r+r

1. Unscrew the exhaust manifold retaining bolts.

2. Undo the bolt (2a) and remove the rigid pipe carrying exhaust gas to the EGR (2b).

1.9 JTD 16v

Removing

- 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and remove the exhaust manifold lower heat shield (1b).

1.9 JTD 8v

1. Undo connector and disconnect engine oil supply pipe to the turbocharger, turbocharger side.

Raise the vehicle.

2. Undo connector (2a) and remove engine oil supply pipe to the turbocharger (2b).

1.9 JTD 16v

1. Undo the connector (1a) and disconnect the oil supply pipe to the turbocharger from the engine crankcase (1b).

1.9 JTD 8v

Refitting

Fit the engine oil supply pipe to the turbocharger and fix it to the crankcase tightening the connector to the recommended torque.

Lower the vehicle.

Connect the engine oil supply pipe to the turbocharger and secure it by tightening the connector to the specified torque.

Fit the rigid pipe carrying exhaust gas to the EGR and tighten the bolts securing it to the exhaust manfold.

1.9 JTD 16v

1. Unscrew the retaining nuts.

2. Remove the exhaust manifold upper heat shield.

1. Unscrew the EGR gas pipe bolts from the manifold.

2. Unscrew the bolt securing the metal band from the heat exchanger.

3. Remove the exhaust gas delivery pipe to the turbocharger.

1. Undo the connector (1a) and remove the turbocharger oil supply pipe (1b).

Refitting

Fit the turbocharger oil supply pipe.

Tighten the pipe connectors to the crankcase and to the turbocharger

Fit the exhaust gas delivery pipe to the turbocharger.

Tighten the bolt fixing the metal band to the heat exchanger.

Tighten the bolts fixing the EGR gas pipe from the manifold.

Fit the exhaust manifold upper heat shield and tighten the fixing nuts.

Fit the lower exhaust manifold heat shield and tighten the fixing bolts.
